Neymar rose to popularity with Santos, when he made his professional debut when he was 17 years old. He was important in the club winning two consecutive Campeonato Paulista titles, a Copa do Brasil, and the 2011 Copa Libertadores.

Neymar was crowned South American Footballer of the Year twice, in 2011 and 2012, and moved to Europe to join Barcelona. He won the continental treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League as part of Barcelona’s offensive trio alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, and finished third for the FIFA Ballon d’Or in 2015 for his exploits.

He moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for €222 million, making him the most expensive player in history. Neymar won three league titles, three Coupe de France, and two Coupe de la Ligue in France, including a domestic treble and was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year in his rookie season. In the 2019–20 season, Neymar helped PSG win the domestic quadruple and guided the club to its first Champions League Final.

Since making his national team debut at the age of 18, Neymar has scored 70 goals in 116 games for Brazil, trailing only Pelé. He was a crucial figure in Brazil’s victory at the 2011 South American Youth Championship, where he was named top goalscorer, and the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, where he was named Golden Ball winner. Injury and suspension cut short his participation in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2015 Copa América, respectively, before captaining Brazil to their first Olympic gold medal in men’s football at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Neymar began playing football at a young age and was quickly noticed by Santos FC, who signed him in 2003 and enrolled him in their development academy, which has produced Brazilian internationals such as Coutinho, Clodoaldo, Diego, Elano, and Alex in the past. He began his career at the club, called Peixe, alongside players such as Pepe, Pelé, and Robinho. He met Paulo Henrique Ganso at the youth program, and the two became fast friends. Neymar went to Spain to try out for Real Madrid’s junior team. Santos confirmed on May 24, 2013, that they had received two proposals for Neymar. The next day, Neymar confirmed that he will sign with Barcelona on May 27, 2013, and that he would join the team after the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. Except for the fact that he signed a five-year contract, neither he nor the clubs have published any information about the transfer fee or personal terms. After passing medical testing and signing a deal that would keep him at the club until June 2018, he was introduced by Barcelona on June 3, 2013.

He was introduced in front of 56,500 supporters at the Camp Nou, a record attendance for a Brazilian player. Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club’s vice-president, first stated that Neymar’s transfer cost was €57.1 million, with a €190 million release clause.

Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar in PSG

On August 3, 2017, Barcelona announced that Neymar’s legal representatives had paid the club €222 million, equal to his contract’s release clause, making it the most expensive move ever. The club notified UEFA so that any disciplinary actions that may be imposed as a result of this case can be determined. The release clause must be activated by the footballer himself in Spain, according to the BBC. The incident was exceptional in that the sum was paid straight to the club after La Liga refused to accept it. La Liga, on the other hand, denied the payment, citing PSG’s violation of Financial Fair Play (FFP) guidelines, which are backed by funds from the Gulf state of Qatar.

He signed a contract with Paris Saint-German that will last through 2022. Javier Pastore presented him the number 10 shirt as a “welcome gift.”

The Best Attacking Trio In History (Messi, Suarez, Neymar)

Messi Neymar Suarez best trio ever

It’s difficult to imagine another group surpassing Barcelona’s legendary ‘MSN,’ with the South American stars setting an incredible number of records during their three years in Catalonia. The three amigos scored a total of 363 goals between the start of the 2014/15 season and the end of the 2016/17 season. Those geniuses’ style of play is an attacking masterpiece that necessitates extraordinary talent and above-average ability.

For years, the team has relied on those three, and they have rarely let them down. The opposition was terrified every time they faced a front line that had scored 365 goals, from Luis Suárez’s difficult debut against Real Madrid, which resulted in a 3–1 defeat, to their most recent performance against Alavés in the Copa del Rey, before Neymar decided to leave for Paris. In three campaigns, 365 targets were achieved. A perplexing and alarming statistic that helped the team win a lot of games against any opponent.
